Sweetshrub Reading at Betty and Vi's 10/20

Happy Fall! On Tuesday, October 20, I will participate in the Sweetshrub Reading Series at Betty and Vi's in East Durham. Omaria Sanchez-Pratt invited me to read. It was a pleasure collaborating with Omaria at the Backlot Garden Spot a few years ago. I'm grateful to have been invited to take part in this reading—especially because it's right in my neck of the woods. I've been a denizen of East Durham for almost five years now. Betty and Vi's used to be Proximity where I was a regular. They have some craft cocktails that many will enjoy and a few beers if that's more of your thing. I've been editing RAPTURE READY, helping judge a fiction contest, and finishing up my duties as a member of a fellowship program for artists offered by the City of Durham. I've also, literally, been herding stray cats in my backyard (to make sure the one we adopted is safe). Ask me about that in person if you'd like. It's a whole thing. I hope to see you at this reading. I have a lot of new material to choose from, including some new chapters of RAPTURE READY that I wrote after conversations with my agent. I may also read the flash piece that has been accepted for publication in the spring. Either way, I hope you can make it!
